Youth Exchange “Giovani in Vetta (GIOVA)”

Giovani in Vetta (GIOVA) is a project that aims to strengthen the role of young people from mountain and rural areas by offering them opportunities for learning, discussion, and active participation. Through a non-formal and outdoor education program, the project supports the development of personal, social, and entrepreneurial skills, fosters peer networking, and builds a sense of belonging both to their local area and to the European community. Erasmus+ mobility thus becomes an educational experience that values local traditions, encourages young people’s participation in the life of their communities, and supports them in transforming local ideas and needs into concrete initiatives.

Target Group

The project is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 30, primarily from mountainous and rural areas, with a particular focus on those with fewer opportunities due to geographic, economic, social, informational, and linguistic barriers. The group will include students, young people transitioning to work, volunteers, and young people with limited international experience who are motivated to take part in an intercultural learning and active citizenship experience.

30 participants total:
4 young people (18–30 years old) + 1 group leader per organization

Activities

The Youth Exchange will be based on non-formal and outdoor education methodologies. Participants will take part in:

• Mountain Stories Lab — local storytelling workshops
• Group work
• Town Hall — community assemblies
• Co-design activities
• Planning of micro-actions for their local communities

The program will also include daily reflection sessions, peer feedback, a learning diary, and a final assessment of skills acquired, recognized through Youthpass and Europass.
