Members of HRN e.V., mostly Students from Ukraine, participated in the events organised by the Cologne forum as part of the activities implemented to mark the International Week Against Racism.

The focus of the event was to enlighten participants on critical well-being and the Importance of Self-Care in the context of racism.

The event kick-started with a session called “Coming Home to Myself” embodiment and movement workshop, this was headed by Vanessa Thiel (Cologne Society for Christian-Jewish
Cooperation e.V.). The goal of this session was to allow participants to get a hold of themselves while paying attention to their environment. Through a yoga session, wellness, mindfulness training, and other related activities, participants acquired knowledge on living a stress-free life

The second part of the event was an Empowerment and management Space. The session was intended for participants to network and discuss some of the challenges they face as immigrants in Germany. The session was headed by ADB Caritas Association for the City of Cologne e.V.

Furthermore, the Pamoja Awareness Network for Kids & Teens organized by Pamoja Afrika e.V. gave a presentation about creating awareness of Racism amongst teenagers and learning how to have a voice.

The team had a great time connecting with the hosts and enjoying the beauty of the City.

We appreciate our partners Pamoja Afrika e.V. Cologne, and Care Deutschland GmbH for the support.
