CEMI​

The Conversation – Education, Migration and Integration (CEMI) is an online conversation program designed to empower the migrant community in Hamburg through information exchange between different generations of migrants.

The project’s primary goal is to break the cycle of misinformation within the migrant community, particularly on topics and issues required for migrants to live and share in the prosperity of their various communities.

CEMI is designed for migrants in Hamburg: Young adults (19 to 29 years) & Adults (30 to 49 years).

The recordings of the previous edition of CEMI are available on our YouTube Channel.

HAUG

HAUG emanated from a meeting convened by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Germany e.V. (NIDO) Germany on 15 March 2022, at which measures to support Nigerians from Ukraine were discussed.

After consultations with other African groups, the initiative’s scope was extended to cover all Africans and those in need of support.

Care4Ukraine

Care4Ukraine is a program designed to support refugees from Ukraine. – People who have fled Ukraine. This includes persons with a Ukrainian passport and persons with permanent or temporary residence status in Ukraine, i.e., third-country nationals.

InBuddy

InBuddy (short form: Integration Buddy) Program brings newcomers in Hamburg into contact with people who have been living in Hamburg for a number of years. The program aims to support newcomers in their everyday activities in Hamburg. The program is designed to make moving to Hamburg and settling in the city as easy as possible.

The InBuddy Program offers all participants a perfect opportunity to make international contacts and friendships, brush up on their foreign language skills, and discover new cultures.

CAPiG

Conference of African PhDs in Germany (CAPiG) brings together African intellectuals who are currently studying for their Ph.D. degree or have completed their Ph.D. in Germany, including postdoctoral researchers in academia & non-academic sectors and prospectus Ph.D. students.

As part of this conference, there will be presentations, panel discussions, career workshops, networking & mentoring sessions and lots more.

The first edition of CAPiG was held in 2021. It has since become an annual conference.

Digital Skills for Empowerment & Social Participation

In our modern world, digital skills are necessary for daily lives, employability, and sharing in the prosperity of an evolving global sphere. Through this project, we tackled the digital skills gap, especially among refugees and people with migration backgrounds in Germany.

Participants received training, resources and mentorship that will guide them to leverage digital skills and tools for personal development.

Health in the Pot

Health in the pot is a health education program designed to empower African women on topics focusing on Mental Health, Nutrition and Personal Hygiene.

The project participants were empowered to

  • make an informed decision about food intake to live better and improve their health
  • make healthy life choices
  • know about their mental health, and where to seek help and support.
  • become more aware of their personal hygiene and health
  • and advocate for healthy lifestyles in their families and communities.

Digital Skills Für Jugendliche

Online training and workshops on web development using HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Also implemented are career development and mentorship sessions.

Together with you

An open event for people who have fled Ukraine due to the war and are now in Hamburg.

We will meet and discuss different perspectives, share information and clarify regulations regarding settling, working and studying in Hamburg.
