Why POWER — and Why Now
Across Europe, young people face mounting challenges — anxiety, disconnection, lack of purpose, and declining motivation. Youth workers stand at the frontline of support, yet many lack structured psychological frameworks to meaningfully address well-being.
POWER equips youth workers with the knowledge, methods, and confidence to integrate the PERMA model — a scientifically grounded framework for flourishing — directly into their everyday practice. From non-formal education to community mentoring, this training bridges positive psychology and real-world youth work.
The Framework
Built on the PERMA Model
Developed by psychologist Martin Seligman, PERMA is a research-backed model identifying five core elements of human well-being. Each module of this training addresses one pillar.
Fostering joy, gratitude, and hope in youth through intentional activities and reflective practice.
Helping young people find flow states and deep involvement in meaningful activities.
Building authentic social connections and community belonging as a foundation for resilience.
Supporting young people in discovering purpose and contributing to something larger than themselves.
Celebrating progress, building self-efficacy, and nurturing a growth mindset in youth programs.
